Nice and shiny

Reclining in my padded folding chair, sipping this caramel frappuccino, all the while being lightly serenaded by Des Ark, I think I’m ready to crank out the obligatory 2010 blog. I’ve been putting it off, really; I guess waiting for something extraordinarily cool to happen…oh well.

It was a good a Christmas. I didn’t get any money, which would’ve been cool but it’s no big deal. I was just so happy to see everyone happy. I got my brother this cool Beatles shirt, a pull up bar for my dad, and Amanda got me these sweet stereo headphones (the same ones she got me last year, haha). After Christmas with Dad and his folks, Mom, Alex, Andrea’s mom, and I went up to northern California to see everyone; we rented a car (Can I just mention how awesome rental cars are? For real, it’s like having a no strings attached fuck buddy). It was a pretty sweet drive; central California ain’t like driving up the 101 but whatever (I would now like to apologize for mentioning “Mom, Alex, Andrea’s mom, and I” and the word “fuck buddy” in the same sentence).

We were there for three days. The first night would be spent at the Echavarria’s house. It was good seeing everyone; we told funny stuff about all of our cousins and talked about the reunion. After this, I went to Julian and Lawrence’s place where I proceeded to lower their Call of Duty score; went back to the house and crashed on the couch (rental cars, fuck yes #1). The next day (this seriously blew my mind but in a funny way) we literally ate all day; I woke up and had breakfast, less than an hour later we went to this Vietnamese place and had brunch, then we went to a market to buy some groceries. When we got back to the house, the old ladies began cooking dinner (Haha, I never really did pay attention to the ‘all they do is eat’ cliché until then). After dinner at Uncle Remy’s place, the young people went bowling; so much fun, in the second round we were just messing around doing trick shots and going for fastest ball.

The next morning, we went to San Francisco to see the Davis’s. First stop was in Hayward to go see Alan. After that, Mark took Justin and me to the city. Fast forward Haight-Ashbury, pizza, and Japan town; we were at home playing Pictionary. The next morning, bright and early at four am, we were on the road to LA. Great time seeing everyone, seems like every time i visit i "meet" a new cousin. This cool because now I have other people I can talk to at the reunion when i can't find Andrea.

Ahhh…

New Years was a lot of fun too, I spent it at the Poulin’s new place: hung out with everybody, rung in the New Year, threw up outside, ran to my car and passed out, woke up freezing and went back to their place and slept on the floor. Good times.

I’m pretty stoked on 2010 so far. I’ve got a bunch of books to read through: American Short Story (An anthology of short stories by all of the great American authors, starting from the late 1700s), A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius / Mistakes We Knew We Were Making (I just realized that these are two books combined…fucking cool. I wonder if they tie in together. Thanks Ivy!), and The Log from the Sea of Cortez (Fucking Steinbeck, dawg. Thanks again, Ivy!). Also, I bought myself Freaks and Geeks: the Complete Series (I know I said it before but seriously, best TV show ever). The job search is looking bleak but I expected it, I’m just glad to have a break from school. What’s my 2010 resolution you ask? …I don’t really know, aside from all the little thing, school (yes I do consider school to be a little thing) and health, I guess I’d want to just have more cool life experiences; just stuff like seeing new places, having a near death experience, a really bad break up, a really awesome relationship, and other things (I think that my only real goal would be to go through all of said cool experiences before my brother does, that way I could, you know, be a brother and stuff) Here’s to that being the most sentimental I’ll ever have to be on this blog, cheers) . I don’t really plan that far ahead, I know that that’s not very adult like but fuck it…fuck it. Fuck it!

Peace.

Things I DO have planned for 2010:

-Rain Fest ’10 (mostly to hang out with a certain someone)

-Get a new hairstyle

-Clean driving record (more like a New Years threat from my insurance company)

-More road trips / see new countries

-Get my wisdom teeth out

-Fuck my eyes up so I have to wear glasses (I’ve been told that I look damn fine in glasses. Sup ladies)

-Get tattooed

-Grow a beard

-Fuck a girl in the butt

Here are all of the pictrures from my phone that i took over this weekend:

About these two: We were at Alan's place. everyone was in the kitchen while myself and the young people were watching tv. I got up and started playing with Alan's barrel man (google it), which in on top of his TV. I accidentally dropped the barrel behind he TV; I didn't know what to do so i left it and went outside. Coming back inside, I see that everyone is watching old home videos...with a naked barrel man chilling on the tv. wow.

Happy New Year!
